Rotary Beirut Liberty and L’Oréal Liban joined forces for a beautiful event held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Radisson Martinez Hotel in Ain Mreysseh. “Beauty with a Mission,” with the subtitle “Empowering Women and Driving Social Change,” was the title and theme of the inspiring conference delivered by Emilie Wahab Harb, General Manager of L’Oréal Liban.
During her talk, Ms. Harb shared her personal success story and highlighted several impactful initiatives. She also expressed L’Oréal Liban’s pride in its newly signed partnership with ESA Business School, reflecting the company’s commitment to education and leadership development.
Globally, L’Oréal supports women through the L’Oréal Foundation, notably by funding grassroots NGOs that assist vulnerable women facing poverty and violence through the L’Oréal Fund for Women. In partnership with UNESCO, the Foundation also promotes women in science. Key initiatives include the “Stand Up” program against street harassment, projects empowering women entrepreneurs, support programs for victims of violence, and initiatives such as “Beauty for a Better Life,” which provides vocational training to foster economic independence and challenge gender stereotypes.
A gift from L’Oréal was offered to all attendees at the end of the session.

The Role of Rotary in Eradicating Polio
Rotary International has played a leading role in one of the most remarkable humanitarian achievements of our time — the global fight to eradicate polio. Since launching the PolioPlus program in 1985, Rotary has been at the forefront of this historic organization.
In this spirit, Rotary Club Beirut Liberty is proudly reaffirming its dedication to this noble cause. The club is initiating new awareness and fundraising efforts to support End Polio Now, highlighting the power of service, compassion, and community action. By joining this global movement, the members of Rotary Club Beirut Liberty are helping to write the final chapter in the story of polio —As part of this global effort, Rotary Club Beirut Liberty members will volunteer on October 25 at the Burj Hammoud Health Center to encourage parents to vaccinate their children. This initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, aims to raise awareness about the importance of immunization and to support national efforts to keep Lebanon polio-free. Rotary Beirut Liberty – Making a Meaningful Impact
Under the dedicated leadership of President Patricia Moawad, Rotary Beirut Liberty, joined by several active members, carried out three impactful community initiatives this month. These efforts were complemented by a heartfelt fellowship lunch that further strengthened our unity and shared commitment to service.
• Empowering Healthcare in Batroun:
Rotary Beirut Liberty contributed to the installation of solar panels at a healthcare dispensary in Batroun—a facility that provides free medical services to the local community. Our support will help ensure the dispensary’s long-term sustainability and uninterrupted care. The activity was followed by a warm and inspiring seaside fellowship lunch, where members exchanged ideas and planned future initiatives.
• Supporting Children with Cancer – CHANCE NGO:
We visited CHANCE, an NGO dedicated to supporting children battling cancer, and donated a laptop and external hard drive to assist with their operations. The visit offered us valuable insight into the organization’s ongoing challenges and highlighted areas where continued support is needed.
• Bringing Joy to Children with Special Needs:
Rotary Beirut Liberty proudly backed a five-day summer camp designed for children with special needs. This initiative promoted inclusion, joy, and a strong sense of belonging, ensuring that these children experienced the happiness and freedom that summer should bring.
Through these meaningful actions, Rotary Beirut Liberty continues to uphold its mission of compassionate service and positive community impact.

Although Rotary Club Beirut Liberty is only three years old, the impact of our service projects over this short period have been remarkable. Our dedication and achievements have earned us golden awards each year, and it comes as no surprise that this year, under the leadership of our president Rima Tohmeh, we were honored with six gold awards.
Although the awards rightfully belong to the club, as they represent a team success, President Rima Tohmeh chose to dedicate them to the heads of committees who played a role in making this year so successful. Each committee head who contributed to the club’s achievements received the awards from President Rima Tohmeh. The awardees were:
• Mona Rasamny
• Patricia Moawad
• Latifa Nakady
